Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired

Hi Zoe,

You probably won't write back to me; I know you’re very busy. I love the way you look. I’ve seen your custom jeans on line and was wondering if I could order a pair. I live way upstate and don’t get into New York City too often. My friend told me you made her three t shirts. We can’t find anything like that up here. I've tried doing it myself, but I can’t sew.

Dear Sandy,

Sure I will send you the info and what I do and what’s available at this time.

Thank you, Zoe

Hi Zoe,

Its Sandy again, thanks for the t-shirt. It's been a while since I sent you that e mail. I wanted to talk to you because I've followed you and what you’ve gone through. I don’t know anyone who’s been through drugs and gotten out of it and been able to live a successful life. I dream of that one day. I can’t get clean. I didn’t want to mention it before in case you told me to go to NA or a twelve step program. I don’t like those meetings and I can't talk in public and I don’t like telling strangers my private life. What can I do? You’re probably too busy, and this e mail will get lost, but in case it doesn’t, you're really cool. I’d like to be like you one day.

— Sandy

Dear Sandy,

I always will respond to you. I also don’t care for twelve step programs. I have many friends who swear by those meeting and say they’d be dead without them. But everyone is different. You didn’t mention which drug you were doing. If its heroin I always recommend Methadone or Soboxone. Its will help with the dreadful cravings that prevent opiate addicts from living a drug free life. After a while if you want you can slowly detox. If you’re smoking meth or crack, you must seek rehab, and find a support network. Unfortunately there isn’t a magic drug for cocaine or methamphetamines. I’m begging you to get help. Call your local hospital and ask for the detox ward. With drugs at an epidemic level in this country most small town hospitals now include a detox ward. The only way you can get clean is because you insist on changing your life. You just are too sick and tired of being sick and tired. Ask yourself if you’re ready. I hope the answer is yes, because you can’t live like this any longer judging by your pleading pain. I actually feel it. Let me know how you are.

Love, Zoe
